Australian card fees overseas
Fees depend on the specific card product and its current terms, not just the bank's name. A debit card, credit card and travel card from one issuer may have different schedules. We do not publish a bank-wide percentage or a “best card” ranking.
What to find in your card terms
- International transaction fee: percentage, scope and whether overseas AUD transactions count.
- Cash advance or ATM withdrawal fee: fixed amount, percentage, and any operator charge.
- Currency conversion: the card network or issuer's rate and the date it is applied.
- Refund treatment: whether fees are returned and which rate applies.
Start with your issuer's current product page and fee schedule. Then enter verified values into the purchase fee calculator or ATM fee calculator. The statement tool helps inspect an actual completed transaction.
Why we do not list one fee per bank
Bank fees and card network terms can change and often vary by product. A single number for ANZ, NAB, Commonwealth Bank, Westpac or another bank would be misleading without a product name, official schedule and effective date. Product-specific comparisons remain in editorial review until those details can be verified.
