AussieSpend, built with Cotizave

AussieSpend is a Cotizave project that helps Australians estimate the AUD cost of foreign purchases, travel budgets and USD subscriptions.

The problem

A reference currency conversion alone does not show a card's foreign transaction fee, exchange-rate markup or fixed charges. AussieSpend lets people enter those costs and inspect the resulting estimate.

How the integration works

The app reads Cotizave's public V1 country-rate snapshot. Its AU entry provides USD/AUD without a key; other supported currencies are converted to AUD through USD when both source rates are available and fresh. The public response does not carry the V2 ID. A configured private V2 key can request the separately identified au-official USD/AUD rate. The key stays inside a Cloudflare Worker.

The Worker checks data and caches each source separately. Calculators show the source update time, distinguish a reference from a bank rate, and stop calculating when required data is unavailable. See the full methodology.

What this demonstrates

Cotizave data can support practical, transparent calculators while the product handles user-entered fees and estimates. AussieSpend does not represent an independent external customer, and this page does not claim traffic, savings or performance figures.
